Since ACWA was founded in 1910, representing and providing
key services to members has been ACWA’s most important charge ACWA’s
involvement at the state and federal level has helped shape laws and policies
that affect ACWA member agencies and their customers. Additionally, ACWA
offers members myriad of services, including the ACWA Preferred Provider
program established in 2005 to offers members opportunities to purchase
high quality services and products at discounted or preferred prices from

Association of Chemical Industry of Texas
(ACIT): ACIT is composed of businesses that share a symbiotic
relationship with the Texas chemical industry. Combined, these companies
act as a support system for the chemical industry, while the industry
provides them with a strong marketplace. Members realize that severe
economic damage to any one of the groups associated with the chemical
industry causes adverse effects for the others. |

California Energy Commission (CEC) is California's
primary energy policy and planning agency. Created by the Legislature in
1974 and located in Sacramento, the Commission has five major responsibilities:
forecasting future energy needs and keeping historical energy data; licensing
thermal power plants 50 megawatts or larger; promoting energy efficiency
through appliance and building standards; developing energy technologies
and supporting renewable energy; and planning for and directing state response
to energy emergency. |

The Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition (DRSG) is the trade
association for companies that provide products and services in the areas
of demand response, smart meters and smart grid technologies. DRSG works
to educate and provide information to policymakers, utilities, the media,
the financial community and stakeholders on how demand response and smart
grid technologies such as smart meters can help modernize our electricity
system and provide customers with new information and options for managing
their electricity use. DRSG is the new name for the Demand Response and
Advanced Metering Coalition (DRAM) which was founded in 2001. The new
name was adopted to reflect the growth in diversity of the organization’s
members and the breadth of smart grid products and services that they
provide. |

Edison Electric Institute (EEI): The Edison Electric
Institute (EEI) is the association of U.S. Shareholder-Owned Electric
Companies. Our members serve 95 percent of the ultimate customers in
the shareholder-owned segment of the industry, and represent approximately
70 percent of the U.S. electric power industry. |

Electricity Consumers Resource Council (ELCON) has been a leading advocate of competitive change since 1976 -- articulating and promoting policies that increasingly make it possible for buyers and sellers of electricity to negotiate for reliable, affordable supplies in an open market. ELCON and its members want to increase understanding of the market and technologies and take an active role in shaping the form and substance of the restructured electricity industry. |

New Jersey Chamber of Commercea business advocacy organization based in Trenton. Created in 1911, the State Chamber staff represents its members on a wide range of business and education issues at the State House and in Washington, D.C.. New York Energy Consumers Council (NYECC) is the largest energy customer advocacy organization in New York State. NYECC works to minimize electric, gas and steam rates; pushes for the competition needed to get the best energy pricing; and works to expand incentive programs for energy efficiency and economic development programs. |

New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is a nonprofit corporation regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission established to facilitate the restructuring of New York’s electric industry. NYISO operates the state’s high-voltage electric transmission system and administers the state’s wholesale energy markets. |
